Platform status

next2u is an online platform operator within the meaning of applicable law: a classified-ads service that connects sellers and buyers and ranks their listings.

The publisher is not a party to transactions between users and acts neither as seller, buyer, nor agent. Transactions are concluded directly between users, at their own risk. The full terms are set out in our Terms of Use.

Ranking transparency

When you run a search or browse a feed of listings, results are ordered by automated algorithms. The main parameters that determine ranking are:

  • the relevance of the listing to your query and to the filters you selected;
  • the recency of the listing (date of publication or update);
  • the geographic proximity between the listing and the location you indicated;
  • the quality and completeness of the listing (title, description, photos, attributes provided);
  • personalisation signals (for example the categories you recently viewed), where available.
Some listings may be promoted for a fee (promotion options). They are identified as such and their promotion influences their position in the results. No other commercial or capital relationship with a seller influences ranking.

Professional and private sellers

On next2u, a seller may be a private individual (non-professional) or a professional, according to the status they declare. We indicate that status on the relevant profile and listings based on that declaration.

Consumer law (in particular the right of withdrawal and the legal guarantees of conformity) applies only to purchases made from a professional seller. It does not apply to sales concluded between private individuals. Where the seller is a professional, that seller bears its own legal obligations (pre-contractual information, guarantees, withdrawal); next2u is not the seller and does not assume those obligations.

Reporting illegal content and complaints

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services (DSA), anyone may report content they consider illegal (a listing, message or profile) using the reporting tools in the interface or by contacting customer support.

  • We acknowledge receipt of reports and review the reported content.
  • Where a listing or account is restricted, hidden or removed, the affected user receives a statement of reasons and may submit a complaint to support to request a review of the decision, including a human review.
  • You may write to us in any of the site's languages.

The Digital Services Coordinator competent for the publisher is the Competition Authority (Autorité de la concurrence) of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Consumer dispute resolution (mediation)

In the event of a dispute with a professional seller or with next2u in its capacity as a professional, and after a written complaint has gone unresolved, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge. Mediation does not apply to disputes between private individuals.

The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025 and is no longer available.
